Anesthesia Information System
AIS is the 'homegrown' full disclosure
anesthesia information management system as it was used at the VUmc hospital (Amsterdam, the Netherlands).
Full disclosure here is: record everything at the highest possible samplerate: this can be compared to a holter EKG (holter ECG). In this case using the same idea not only for EKG's but also for bloodpressure, saturation and ventilator waveforms (PAW/Capno). The highest possible rate is used for the recording of the trends as well.
The AIS is a generic datarecording and datamining platform and a PDMS was build on top.
The recorder platform served as a flightrecorder (a.k.a. 'blackbox') for the OR.
It has a modular architecture, uses open standards and is webbased.
