AIS was/is a full disclosure recording system, with a PDMS build on top.
I will describe here the PDMS and research software projects realized at the department of anesthesia VUmc Amsterdam.
There are a couple of subjects:
The functionality of the recording system.
Retrieval and viewing (research) of quite large data files (holter ECG's).
Decision support.
Technical stuff: architecture, data storage, deployment, maintenance, gui etc.
overview
A modular approach where everything is connected using webbased connections.
additional information
The purpose of this site is to give information about the software modules
that where developed to build the Anesthesia Information System
(AIS).
An AIS or anesthesia information system is also known as Anesthesia Information Management System (AIMS), a Patient Data Management System (PDMS) or even as
an automated anesthesia recordkeeper (AARK).
In most cases it encompasses much more than recordkeeping alone and will usually serve as a general information portal for patient data information as well.
So in a way it overlaps, uses and/or combines functionality found in the overall
idea of 'one' computerized medical record.
